Joshua Project 2020: Apply Now!
YAA is looking for college students who are excited about serving Jesus in Montana!
The Joshua Program…
- Takes place in the beautiful mountains of Montana!
- Is designed for those people who desire to develop as effective leaders.
- Provides intentional experiences to challenge and deepen your faith in Jesus Christ.
- Takes place over the course of eight, exciting, adventure filled weeks that you will never forget!
YAA’s Joshua Staff creates the framework by which camp runs. We need Joshua Staff for many different positions!
Camp Counselors are on the front line, with the mot direct impact on campers’ lives! They are on fire for sharing the gospel and giving their 8-12 campers the best week of their summer.
Worship Leaders love to lead others through music. We are looking for people who have a passion for leading campers and fellow staff members through songs that will give a glimpse of who Jesus is!
Kitchen Assistants serve the Lord through their time cooking for the campers and staff. Additionally, they learn from our master chef as they prepare thousands of meals! Camp literally couldn’t happen without them!
Office Assistants are the brains of YAA-behind-the-scenes. They’re specialization is interacting and corresponding with parents before and after camp, and also ensuring a smooth registration process.
The Media Team documents all of the fun, crazy, life-changing adventures here at YAA. They capture all of the memories that the campers have, helping them remember their camp experience forever!
The Maintenance Team works behind-the-scenes to keep camp running. They help make camp a beautiful, safe environment for kids to have a blast. Be prepared to learn skills that you can apply to life!
Timothy Program Leaders spend their summer leading 20 high school students who participate in our leadership development program. Laugh, cry, and do life with these developing young leaders.
Program Assistants dive deep into everything YAA. They serve the campers by planning all of the schedules, games, and activities. Program assistants are leaders amongst their fellow Joshua Staff.

Joshua Staff members have two options for compensation:
Non-reimbursed volunteer. This option does not include financial reimbursement.
Reimbursed volunteer. This requires fundraising to fund reimbursement. YAA will provide guidelines, assistance, and expectations for fundraising.
Everyone will be provided room and board throughout the summer program.
Here’s some experience of previous staff members:
Elyssa Howard | Program Assistant | 2019
You will experience one of the best summers of your life by sharing the gospel with kids, living in community, and making memories & friendships that are so special. God works in mighty ways in the lives of campers, but also is faithful to do a mighty work in you. The best decision I made was saying “yes” to God as he was leading me to serve at YAA.
Tyler Bultena | Camp Counselor | 2019
I felt like I knew all of the Joshuas for years, when in reality I had only known them for a couple of months. I couldn’t have dreamt that I would have gotten as close as I did to my fellow Joshuas this summer. YAA is a place to share God’s gospel of love with kids and a place to grow individually in a strong community!
Mark Glass | Camp Counselor | 2018
The community here is like no other. It is in a beautiful part of Montana. Be prepared to see God work through you and to invest in campers.
Chase Eckert | Camp Counselor | 2018
Working at YAA will be one of the most challenging and growth filled summers of your life with community like you have never experienced before.
Brianna Hawthorne | Food Service Assistant | 2018
Working as an assistant in the YAA kitchen shaped my love for service behind the scenes. It wasn’t always glamorous or calm, but laughter prevailed through it all. I really value the times spent around the counter chopping vegetables for salad while enjoying conversation with others who dropped by or belting out one of our favorite songs. It was a time of growth in my desire to serve, and a time of great fun!
Justin Moore | Timothy Program Leader | 2017
Being on staff at YAA was the most enriching experience in my faith and character. Serving alongside amazing people in an environment that fosters service, care, and growth through challenge was a humbling experience that showed me more of who God is. God is active and made us for community—with him and other believers. I’ve seen and experienced the Holy Spirit’s work through changes in camper’s hearts, growth in leaders, and in the environment of YAA.
